The ASEAN University Network-Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN) Secretariat gave appreciation regarding the facilities and health service system at the University of Indonesia (UI).
The AUN-HPN assessment of UI includes three HURS indicators, namely System and Infrastructure, Zero Tolerance Areas, and Health Promotion Areas.
UI University Secretary Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D, at the UI Dictionary in Depok, Monday, said that HURS encourages universities and academic communities to live better.
She said the indicators set by HURS not only assess facilities that support the creation of a healthy environment, but also look at the systems and policies implemented by UI to ensure its citizens are healthy.
Actually, he continued, this ranking system is just an instrument. The most important thing about this process is how to change oneself and behavior to be better. He analogized this ranking system to a medical checkup.
“As when we do a medical checkup, the most important thing is not the results of the examination, but the changes that are made after we know the results,” he said.
Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University and Chair of the Committee on HURS Development, Prof. Dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya said that the purpose of this visitation is to verify all data provided by UI with the condition of facilities and systems in the field.
The AUN-HPN team wanted to directly assess UI’s success in creating a healthy campus as evidenced by the achievement of 5 stars in its first participation in HURS 2022.
“I congratulate UI for last year’s achievement and I thank you for UI’s efforts in creating a healthy campus,” he said.
He said he followed the guidelines from UI GreenMetric and QS Rating System. In its ranking, UI GreenMetric provides information that can encourage universities to become green campuses.
“We want to expand that through HURS, to monitor universities to become healthy campuses,” he said.
