“They contribute to innovation and application in every sector. Therefore, we continue to encourage with the next startup development program and digital downstreaming in strategic sectors,” he said in a press release on Friday.

He said this after the ADA 2024 Award Ceremony at the 4th ADGMIN Gala Dinner at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, Thursday (1/2) night.

Through the 1,000 Digital Startups Program, the Ministry of Communication and Information facilitates the development of digital-based entrepreneurs. In ADA 2024, the Ministry facilitates the best information and communication technology (ICT) works from Indonesia.

“Kominfo facilitated five finalist teams representing Indonesia to make offline presentations in front of 13 ADA 2024 Final Judges consisting of 10 judges from each ASEAN member country and 3 invited judges from China, Japan and Korea,” he said.

ADA 2024 is a regional competition in which the curation or selection of products from participants is carried out entirely online.

According to Boni, of all the Indonesian representative teams sent, five teams managed to qualify as ADA 2024 finalists.

“There are Crustea and Artopology for the Digital Startup category and Shieldtag and Incrane for the Private Sector category,” he said.

ADA was first initiated in 2012 (when it was still called AICTA) in Cebu, Philippines. In 2020, ADA was stopped because the COVID-19 Pandemic hit the world.

Around mid-2023, it was then decided that AICTA would be held again with Singapore as the host country or organizer, which is now called the ASEAN Digital Awards (ADA).

Awards are given in six categories namely Public Sector, Private Sector, Digital Content, Digital Startup, Digital Innovation and Digital Inclusivity.

Crustea CEO and Founder Roikhanatun Nafi’ah said she was proud and grateful for the Ministry of Communication and Information’s invitation to participate in ADA 2024.

“We are happy because previously we did not expect to be the first winner because we are also a new startup, less than two years old. This is our motivation to continue growing our startup. We are trusted and can certainly provide benefits to farmers or any sector,” he said.

ADA 2024 is a prestigious award given to organizations, businesses, and individuals, who have pioneered innovative products or services and made significant contributions to the digital landscape in the Southeast Asian region.

Previously, the awards were known as the ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA). The name change was to recognize the use of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things in ASEAN’s digital economy.
