January 25, 2024, Jakarta – The Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (KemenKopUKM), in collaboration with ASEAN USAID-IGNITE, has officially launched the BCR Tab in Bahasa Indonesia, an initiative aimed at supporting the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.
BCR Tab, short for Business Continuity and Resilience Tab, is an online platform designed as a primary resource for MSMEs to enhance their capacity and business resilience. In a statement released by the Deputy for Micro Business of KemenKopUKM, Yulius, the presence of BCR Tab is expected to facilitate MSMEs’ access to various learning materials, webinars, learning communities, as well as various tools and resources related to business sustainability and resilience.
The BCR Tab platform is also integrated into the ASEAN SME Academy application, an initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of MSMEs across the ASEAN region, particularly in financial management, marketing, and technology adoption. With easy access through the link https://asean-sme-academy.org/, MSMEs are expected to optimize their potential and compete more effectively in the global market.
The launch of this application was also greeted with enthusiasm by the MSME community. A total of 250 selected participants out of 400 applicants were given the opportunity to attend the launch event in Surabaya. Yulius stated that the participants came not only from Surabaya but also from various regions in East Java, including diverse business sectors, with the majority being women and including persons with disabilities.
Desrini Fatimah, Contracting Officer’s Representative from the USAID – ASEAN Office, also welcomed the development of BCR Tab in Bahasa Indonesia. She emphasized the importance of this platform in supporting MSMEs to compete in the digital era.
In addition to the launch, the event also featured a workshop on Business Continuity and Resilience e-Courses for Future Proofing Indonesian MSMEs, attended by various prominent speakers in their fields. Participants were provided with new insights and skills, including business development strategies through digital technology adoption, market trend management, and building strong business networks.
Henra Saragih, Head of the Legal and Cooperation Bureau of KemenKopUKM, affirmed KemenKopUKM’s commitment to supporting the improvement of human resources quality and digital transformation for MSMEs. Saragih also invited all stakeholders and MSME actors to utilize the BCR Tab platform as one of the tools in developing MSME capacity in Indonesia.
The launch of BCR Tab marks a significant step in supporting the growth and sustainability of MSMEs in Indonesia, in line with KemenKopUKM’s vision to strengthen a resilient and competitive MSME ecosystem.
